Admission Requirements:

Candidates should have passed 10+2 or any other course recognized by CBSE as equivalent, with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects and should have qualified All India Engineering Entrance Examination (For details refer www.aieee.nic.in). Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes are required to secure the minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination.

Change of Branch will be offered strictly based on AIEEE rank subject to eligibility and availability.

 

 

Physical Requirements Common to all the NITs:

An engineering student should fulfill certain minimum conditions of physical fitness as prescribed by the Government of India. It is desirable to have the following medical standards for admission to all the NITs.

Height : Not less than 150 cm for male and not less than 140 cm for female candidates.
Weight : Not less than 41 kg for male and not less than 37 kg for female candidates.
Chest :Not less than 69 cm with satisfactory limits of expansion & contraction.
Heart & Lungs : No abnormality.
Hernia, Hydrocele, Piles etc. : To be rectified before joining, if these are present.
Vision : Normal. In case of defective vision, it must be corrected to 6/9 in both the eyes or 6/6 in the better eye. Candidates seeking admission to Mining Engineering must be free from colour blindness.
Hearing : Normal, where defective it must be corrected.
Physique : Good.
Note: Candidates are required to produce at the time of counselling, a Certificate of Physical Fitness.
